Welcome to TESOL Affiliate News, March 2015! I would like to thank affiliates from all over the world for
their contributions. They have made this issue possible. Their articles
and updates encourage other affiliate leaders to express themselves and
share their ideas.
In one of the articles, Jodi Crandall’s remarkable contribution
and legacy to the language education field is remembered. You will read
a few highlights that show her outstanding career. You will also find
two other articles, from ACTA TESOL and TESOL Arabia, in which authors
share their experiences on organizing and planning professional
activities.
Affiliates’ updates include interesting and exciting articles
about the past year’s MATE-TESOL conference, MEXTESOL’s several
different projects, Three Rivers TESOL’s celebration of their silver
anniversary and TESOL International’s gold anniversary, and TexTESOL V’s publication of Texas English
Language Teaching Journal.
In this edition, you will meet Debbie West, the incoming Member A to the Affiliate Leadership Council (ALC).
Debbie has always been very active at ALC events at past TESOL
conferences, sharing her expertise and experience with other colleagues.
I have included the news for the 2015 TESOL convention in
Toronto, Canada. I am really excited about seeing you at the Editors’
Workshop, which will take place Thursday, 26 March, 1 pm–3pm. This
meeting is located in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Room 201C,
unless otherwise noted. If you want to join the team of volunteers to
facilitate this workshop, please feel free to contact me at anamariarocca@gmail.com.
I hope readers will like this edition of the TESOL
Affiliate News, and I encourage them to send the newsletter
to TESOL affiliate boards and members.
See you in Toronto!
