The call for Best of Affiliates presentations is below. Note that the deadline is Monday, August 22.

As a benefit to its affiliates, TESOL includes in the program of its annual convention a limited number of affiliate presentations; these presentations are chosen and evaluated by the Affiliate Leadership Council as the best presentations from among those made at the affiliate regional conferences. This benefit allows affiliates to recognize presenters who have supported their affiliates by providing outstanding professional development. It provides affiliates with an additional tool to encourage productive participation at their regional conferences. Also, it allows affiliates to “put their best foot forward” at TESOL’s annual convention and exhibit.

TESOL’s Affiliate Leadership Council encourages affiliate leaders to submit their affiliate’s Best of Affiliates presentation for the 2012 TESOL Convention and Exhibit in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Submissions are due by Monday, August 22.

Please note the following information:

• Presentations from 2010/2011 affiliate conferences may be submitted.
• No funding is associated with acceptance of the presentation for the convention. Affiliates and/or presenters are responsible for funding their convention-related expenses.
• Six Best of Affiliates presentations will be included in the 2012 TESOL Convention and Exhibit program book. Presentations will be selected by the Affiliate Leadership Council, using a blind review process and criteria commensurate with the general convention selection criteria.
• All Best of Affiliates presentations will be limited to 45 minutes.
• Successful applicants will be notified prior to October 1.
