Dear ALISers,
The time has come for me to say goodbye as one of the Applied
Linguistics Interest Section coeditors for the AL Forum. I have had the best time over the past 2 years
learning from and getting to know more about our interest section, and I
am extremely grateful for the experience with the ALForum. I have had the chance to interact with and
learn from the outstanding scholars in our field. I look forward to
seeing the continued growth of the Applied Linguistics Interest Section
of TESOL International Association as I step away.
I’m very grateful to Ben White for introducing me to the work
of this community. I have enjoyed working with him, and I will miss the
excitement of reading the new pieces and putting together new issues.
Going forward, he will now be ably assisted by our new coeditor, Dr.
Natalia Dolgova. Natalia is teaching assistant professor of English for academic purposes at George
Washington University (GWU). She holds a PhD in applied linguistics from
Georgetown University and an MA in English linguistics from George
Mason University. Prior to starting at GWU, she taught advanced learners
of English in the Georgetown Law Center and worked at the Center for
Applied Linguistics. With Ben and Natalia at the helm, the AL Forum will thrive.
I will continue to work with the TESOL/applied linguistics community and hope to see you all around.
All the best,
Monika |
