ITA-IS!

I had envisioned this letter arriving in the early fall when the leaves were just changing, but it looks like the leaves are almost gone and winter is nearly here. My semester has been a whirlwind! I hope that your semesters have been as fast and exciting as mine has been!

As someone relatively new to the ITAIS, I've been lucky to encounter interesting activities (new to me, but perhaps better known to our more seasoned ITA trainers) in several of these articles. Feel free to use the comment feature at the bottom of these articles to continue the discussion by adding ideas, suggestions, or other related activities that you've used with your students. I know that our chair, Rebecca Oreto, wants to hear about your activities that motivate students who are experiencing the midsemester slumps.

Our next newsletter is slated to come out in February, right before many of us get the opportunity to meet up in Toronto for the 2015 TESOL Annual Convention & English Language Expo. A great way to share ideas and get conversations started is by submitting them to our ITAIS Newsletter! This is also a fabulous way for those that are unable to attend the convention to discuss research or techniques and activities they’ve used with their students. The deadline to submit articles is 10 January 2015, but contact me now if you have the intent to submit!

My best to everyone!

Sarah Emory
