ITA-IS!
While winter is lingering in some parts of the United States,
in others, spring is already taking hold. This renewal will affect us
all in March at TESOL’s International Convention & English
Language Expo when our IS leadership moves from our current chair,
Rebecca Oreto, to our new chair, Liz Tummons. I’ll be welcoming our new
editor-elect, Maureen Templeman, who will help me with next year’s
newsletters before I pass the mantle to her in spring 2016. We will also
be welcoming our new chair-elect, Elizabeth Gillstrom, our new
secretary, Stephen Looney, and our new members-at-large, Elise Geither
and Derina Samuel.
I’m bringing this idea of renewal into our spring newsletter with three
articles that address activities and practices that can help our ITAs
continue to improve. If you have activities or other topics related to
ITAs that you would like to share, submit to the ITAIS summer newsletter
by 15 May 2015.
Our ITAIS dinner will be on Thursday after our annual meeting.
Barbara Beers, Derina Samuel, and Mo Burke have arranged for us to have a
meal at the Hot House restaurant. The cost is US$34.50 per person. If
you will be attending, please send checks (payable to Barbara Beers), postmarked by
13 March to:

I look forward to seeing many of you at TESOL 2015, and for
those of you not attending, I hope you will consider participating in
our summer newsletter!
Best,
Sarah Emory
