Hello ITA friends and colleagues across the globe!
My name is Elizabeth Gillstrom, and I have been coordinating
the international teaching assistant testing and training at the
University of Pennsylvania since 2011. In that time, I’ve heavily relied
on the shared expertise of my fellow ITAIS members. You are a wonderful
set of people, and I look forward to celebrating the 50th anniversary
of TESOL in Baltimore next spring with all of you.
I’ve especially had a good time hearing your suggestions for
our academic session, and putting together the panel. The session will
cover recent conversation analysis research into ITA testing and
training. Thank you to those who offered ideas, and to those who will be
presenting. I hope many of you will attend on Friday, 8 April, from 1
pm–2:45 pm.
Though I have previously served as secretary to the interest
section, I look forward to learning more about the ins and outs of the
ITAIS from our chair Liz Tummons and past-chair Rebecca Oreto. I also
look forward to continuing to work with all of you. Please email me if
you have thoughts, ideas, or questions about the ITAIS.
