Greetings!
I hope everyone is finding time for some relaxation during this
season. In this June edition of the ITAIS Newsletter you will find
three engaging and worthwhile articles written by ITA professionals as
well as upbeat and informative letters from both the Chair and
Secretary/Chair-Elect.
The first article is from a discussion presented at TESOL 2018
by Stacy Suhadolc and Derina Samuel about using authentic ITA teaching
videos across universities. The written summary of this popular session
also provides many valuable video links. The second article is written
by a Ph.D candidate and a fellow teaching colleague, Babak Khoshnevisan.
He provides a unique description of the developmental stages of a
teacher from the perspective of an ITA. Finally, Rebecca Oreto, who I am
sure many of you know in our ITA community, wrote the last article. Her
article discusses how TOEFL Speaking scores can be used both as a guide
for ITAs and their departments.
Our next ITAIS newsletter will be published in November. The
article submission deadline is 15 October 2018. Please let me know if
you have any questions about submitting an article or if you have an
idea and wanted to discuss it with me first.
Thank you,
Laura |
