Greetings SLWIS members,

Welcome to the last issue of 2015 and my first issue as managing editor. I began working with the SLW News editorial staff 3 years ago as book reviews co-editor and began editing articles last year. I am excited to be stepping into my new role, and I hope to meet many of you at SLW-related events in Baltimore next year.

This issue includes articles about written corrective feedback, teacher reflections on peer review, and an innovative oral history project conducted with postsecondary second language writers. There is also a review of TESOL’s Resource Center and a Writing Programs Conference that took place in Japan earlier this year. In addition, I am pleased to introduce a new section of the newsletter, titled Meet the Expert. Elena Shvidko, our SLW community manager, will be conducting informal interviews with renowned SLW researchers and practitioners to gather their insights on the field and their work.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing newsletter editor, Margi Wald, for her many years of dedicated service to the SLWIS community. Since she first joined the editorial team in 2006 to work on SLWIS’s inaugural issue, Margi has worked tirelessly to coordinate the editorial process, manage submissions, recruit associate editors, and promote the newsletter at local and national events. She will continue to be heavily involved in the TESOL International Association in her new role as convention program chair for the TESOL 2017 Convention in Seattle, Washington.

I would also like to share some additional changes to our editorial team. First, we say goodbye to Karen Best, who has contributed to our newsletter as a writer and as part of the editorial team since 2011. Thanks to her for her valuable contributions to our newsletter, especially her contributions to our mission to publish action and teacher research. On the other hand, we welcome Kristina Lauer to our editorial team. Kristina has been an instructor of ESL and developmental English at Central New Mexico Community College, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, since 2004. She has enjoyed several summer teaching stints abroad, most recently in Indonesia.
