LEADERSHIP UPDATES
LETTER FROM THE CHAIR
Laura Jacob, Mt. San Antonio College, Walnut, California, USA

Dear SRIS Members and Friends,

This is an exciting time as we gear up for the annual convention, this year preparing for Chicago!

Please be sure to check out the incredible SRIS sessions this year. Visit the conference planner, go to the top right corner and choose “Social Responsibility” from the drop-down menu. You can also see a list of TESOL forum meetings as well as SRIS sponsored conference sessions here. Additionally, join us for the SRIS open meeting on Wednesday, 28 March from 6:45-8:15 in N132.

We will also be rolling-out the four “strands” of SRIS this year, so stay tuned for announcements and further ways to get involved. The four strands are: EL Advocacy, the Intersections of Identity & Language Teaching, Professional Learning (Teacher Education, Curriculum Development and Social Justice Resources), and Global Issues in Education (Peace, Environment and Economic Justice).

Riah Werner and Anastasia Khawaja, thank you for taking the newsletter to new levels this year!

I have been very proud to be Chair of this important and passionate Interest Section.

Thank you, all, for your participation.

Warmly,

Laura Jacob
