The hybrid TESOL 2022 Convention is fast approaching, and the CALL-IS is thrilled to again host a virtual Electronic Village (EV) as part of the convention program from March 23-25. This year’s EV includes a full schedule of exciting opportunities that will enable you to learn with TESOLers around the world—and, best of all, the virtual EV is free and open to all! The 2022 EV includes engaging live and on-demand professional development content designed to accommodate schedules of participants worldwide.

Resources and guides for how to access the platforms and tools we’re using in EV hands-on events, as well as ideas for adding them to your teaching toolbox, will be available before, during, and after the convention on the EV2022 website. Recordings of live events will be available on the CALL-IS YouTube channel after the convention, too.

CALL-IS and EV news will be shared on Facebook and Twitter during the convention, so be sure to follow those accounts.

Electronic Village Coordinator & Past CALL-IS Chair, 2021-2022

Heather Benucci is the CALL-IS Past-Chair and 2022 Electronic Village coordinator. She has served on the Chairs team for three years, been a Steering Committee member since 2016, and has volunteered and presented with CALL-IS for the past decade. During her tenure on the Chairs team, Heather has sought to create connections with other TESOL Interest Sections, improved intra-IS communications and e-records keeping, developed a CALL-focused webinar partnership between TESOL and the U.S. Department of State, and increased outreach to potential CALL-IS members and volunteers.

Heather is an EFL teacher educator and materials development specialist who has led virtual professional development programs for teachers from over 100 countries. She is a long-time producer and presenter for the U.S. Department of State’s American English Live global webinar program and has served as English Language Specialist for projects in the Balkans, Russia, and Brazil. Heather is an English Teaching Forum author and Contributing Editor. She loves to read, hike, and ski!
