LEADERSHIP UPDATES
From the Editor
Maria Parker, Duke University

Dear HE Members,

It has been an honor and pleasure to be your newsletter editor for the past 6 years. The newsletter only exists through the commitment of the membership, and the best part of the job has been getting to know many of you through your articles and other contributions. Thanks to all of you who have contributed for making the time and effort on top of all your other responsibilities. The range of expertise, experience, and creativity in our membership is truly impressive! If you have not contributed to the newsletter in the past, I urge you to consider it for the future. Articles and shorter pieces on any topic relating to ESL in higher education are welcome, and the editors are always happy to work with you throughout the process.

This issue will be my last as editor, but I am leaving the job in very capable hands. We are fortunate that Maria Ammar, currently our book reviews editor, will move into the editor’s position. We are also fortunate to have an excellent replacement for Maria as book reviews editor. Melanie Jipping is the former coeditor of the ORTESOL newsletter and currently teaching in the IEP program at Tokyo International University of Japan, in Salem, Oregon. Maria and Melanie are joined on the editorial team by Alan Lytle, our excellent technology editor. Please join me in welcoming this new configuration of the team!

Best of luck to all of you, and I look forward to continuing to participate in the IS through reading the newsletter and TESOL conferences.

Maria Parker
