Welcome to the March 2016 issue of TESOL Video
News, also the preconvention issue of the VDMIS newsletter.
Last year, 2015, was a hard year for many people, economically and
politically. I hope all of you have been doing fine. Now we are in 2016,
in which we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of TESOL. As a member
of this community, I am so excited to share this happiness and pride.
In this issue, we have three interesting articles: Angela
Sioumpas, from Toronto, Canada, shares her experience in using Canadian
TV programs and digital technology to teach English. Then Cameron
Romney, based in Kyoto, Japan, talks about how to use QR codes in your
materials. Lastly, Rebekka Eckhaus and Joachim Castellano discuss their
techniques in using video feedback for student presentations.
VDMIS is soliciting articles for future issues of TESOL Video News. If you are interested in using
movies or creating digital media lessons, you are more than welcome to
share your experience with us. Submit articles or announcements to kennethchyi@gmail.com.
You may also send opinions and suggestions at any time to the IS
leaders or to the e-list. We look forward to hearing from
you.
