MEET JEAN FRANTZY ITALIEN, INCOMING ALC MEMBER A!
I currently serve as MATE international advocacy representative. I am the president/founder of Miragoane Association of Teachers of English (MATE), whose main office is located in Miragoane, Haiti. I previously taught English as a foreign language for more than 10 years. In 1996, I started Wonderful English Institute in Miragoane. The institute became the first English school founded in the county. In September 1997, I took my first-year seminar in English titled “English for the Year 2000 and Beyond,” sponsored by the United States Information Service, Cultural Affairs Office. In 2000, I started workshops and meetings to initiate a professional English organization in Miragoane. On August 8 2003, I founded MATE as a regional English association to strengthen English teaching in Haiti. In 2005, I implemented TESOL International Association in Haiti. As member A of the Affiliate Leadership Council, my goal is to secure the mission and the vision of the affiliates and TESOL. |
