MESSAGE FROM The AFFILIATE NEWS EDITOR

Dear Affiliate Leaders:

The Affiliate Newsletter updates affiliates twice a year, once in September and March, on programs and services being developed for affiliates.  It is also a place for affiliates to share their affiliates’ stories and learning experiences with their peers.  This issue contains articles about fundraising and sustainability, a report about the TESOL affiliate task force, advocacy and leadership, innovative ways to host conferences, and challenges facing affiliates and the imagination to find solutions collaboratively for all affiliate members.  There are also several updates from a variety of affiliates—established and young—imbuing all of us with possibilities of applicable to our own affiliates.  I sincerely hope you find the September 2016 newsletter meaningful and inspiring.  I am most grateful for my colleagues all over the world, and I hope I have the opportunity to meet many of you in Seattle.  I am also particularly grateful for my ALC colleagues from whom I have learned so much about collaboration, flexibility, empathy, and leadership.
