PENNTESOL-EAST ANNOUNCES NEW INITIATIVE

PennTESOL-East is beginning a series of monthly conversations with selected members of the affiliate. The conversations will provide a forum for the exchange of ideas.

PennTESOL-East is the TESOL International Association affiliate which represents the eastern part of the state of Pennsylvania in the United States. In addition to its tradition of hosting one or two conferences per year, it is creating a monthly event, TESOL Conversations, to further strengthen the bond among its members and other peers in the field. The event aims to provide a forum to exchange ideas and highlight effective practices in our field. The meetings are free and open to everyone. Speakers will come from the PennTESOL-East membership. For the first year, eleven speakers have been chosen to present their work.

Beginning in February 2021, each meeting will be on the fourth Friday of every month at 4 p.m. via Zoom and will last from thirty to forty minutes. The speaker will give a ten to fifteen-minute presentation followed by a conversation among the participants. Recordings of the meetings will be made available to the public. PennTESOL-East will award certificates to the presenters as a token of appreciation and will publish reviews of their presentations on its website.
