CALL FOR PAPERS

Attention all graduate students!

In the summer 2012 issue, we plan significantly to expand our Graduate Student Corner. If you are a master’s or doctoral student, please consider submitting a brief summary of your current project(s) to the issue. What can you submit? Almost anything that relates to second language acquisition research and/or pedagogy. Papers written for courses you are taking, summaries of master’s theses or dissertation chapters (even those in progress), or studies you are presenting at the upcoming TESOL Convention or its Graduate Student Forum are all good candidates for submission. We also welcome reflections on issues in applied linguistics research or on being a graduate student in TESOL and applied linguistics. Book and software reviews will likewise be considered.

All submissions should adhere to Publications Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th ed.), be no more than 1,500 words (with references), and include a 50-word abstract that will appear on the newsletter homepage. Although AL Forum is not a peer-refereed publication, we will carefully review all submissions and provide feedback to the authors. Our goal is to publish informative essays that our audience―ESL/EFL teachers and researchers―will find both enlightening and useful in their work.

The deadline for submissions is April 15, 2012, but if you have any questions before submitting your work please do not hesitate to contact Jana Moore or Olga Griswold.
