LETTER FROM THE COMMUNITY MANAGER
Austin Pack, Shantou University, Shantou, China

Hello fellow ICIS members,

Many individuals interested in intercultural communication may be hesitant to actively engage in teaching and researching intercultural communication because they may feel like their knowledge of the subject is lacking. In order to encourage and help these newcomers to the field, we recently conducted a brief survey asking TESOL’s Intercultural Communication Interest Section members to recommend books, articles, and other resources that may be of use to those individuals branching out into intercultural communication.

This resulting Excel file is a compilation of books, articles, websites, and other resources that may be of use to those who are interested in learning about, teaching, or researching intercultural communication. It is not an exhaustive list of the literature on intercultural communication. The file is also available in the library of the ICIS Community page of the TESOL site.

We intend to update the file periodically, so if you have resources you feel would make useful additions, please e-mail them to me.

I sincerely appreciate your help and look forward to interacting with you more soon as your community manager.

Austin Pack

The next issue of InterCom will be a special topic issue devoted to the theme of race and ethnicity. We are curious about our ICIS members! Which groups/labels do you most identify with? I see myself as
a person of color
a white person
a multi-racial person
just a person
