LETTER FROM THE LEADERSHIP: CO-CHAIR JENNIFER LACROIX
Jennifer Lacroix, Boston University, Massachusetts, USA

TESOL 2022 International Convention & English Language Expo in Pittsburgh, PA, USA will be a hybrid convention this year. March 22-25 will be action packed with a range of graduate and doctoral student forums, pre-convention institutes, and a range of in-person and virtual sessions to attend. In addition to more than 600 sessions to attend, participants will have access to 200 recorded sessions, will be able to interact with exhibitors showcasing the latest products, and last, but not least, meet colleagues in sessions and over coffee. With this in mind, the ICIS leadership cordially invites you to attend our open session on Thursday, March 24th. During our open meeting, past, present, and future ICIS members will have an opportunity to engage and participate in ICIS’s long-term goal of engaging TESOLers to truly become both a lived and virtual reality.

This past year, ICIS has been on an educational journey. Many of you have enthusiastically engrossed in multiple coffee hours, panels, webinars, and even stepped into leadership positions. If you have not yet joined us, the good news is there is still so much more to come! I want to personally encourage you to join ICIS at our Open Meeting on Thursday, March 24 at 5:00 pm EDT, watch for monthly opportunities to engage with us through virtual ICIS-sponsored events, and find sessions of interest at the upcoming TESOL Virtual Annual Convention. We have a plethora of sessions dedicated to intercultural teaching and learning available on the convention website.

We genuinely look forward to your increased engagement with ICIS. You are welcome to connect with us online via our MyTESOL listserv or connect with us through social media: ICIS Facebook group; ICIS Twitter.

On behalf of ICIS leadership,

Jennifer Lacroix,
Co-Chair (2021-2022)
