Hello, dear TESOLers,

This summer our community has undergone big changes. First, for the first time ever, TESOL has introduced Strands as a way to facilitate proposal submission and evaluation process. The Culture and Intercultural Communication Strand “focuses on language and culture in intercultural communication situations as they relate specifically to second language teaching, learning, and teacher education.” I hope that many of you have submitted proposals for this strand and if you are planning to only attend 2019 Convention, make sure to attend Culture and Intercultural Communication sessions and encourage presenters to join our IS!

As for some housekeeping news, we are growing on social media! Our Facebook page engages ICIS members in a lively exchange of ideas and resources, our LinkedIn page is open for any professional networking online, and our Twitter feed connects TESOLers across many context areas. So, like, join and follow us on all the platforms!
