One again, our IEPIS newsletter offers a variety of
information, from reflections on teaching and IEP administration (Steven
Dunham’s “Shame Based Teaching” and Andy Curtis’s
“Ethics and IEPs: Then and Now”), to articles on student issues (Ashlea
Green’s “Green, Efficient, and Effective: iCalendars for Program Dates
and Deadlines” and Kenneth Cranker’s “EFL in the United States”), to
teaching tips like using VoiceThread for student presentations (Iona
Sarieva’s “Employing Web 2.0 Technologies for Presentation Skills
Development, or How to Overcome the Fear of Death”) and a book review of
a student textbook (“Review of Pathways 2,” by Amber
Kantner, Alan Orr, and Haley Winters). Also in this edition we are
introducing a new feature—IEPIS member interviews! If you are willing to
be interviewed for our new Meet the Members section, please let us
know.
Of course, we are also getting ready for the convention in
Portland, Oregon, USA (March 26–29), and we hope to see many of you
there.
The IEP Interest Section Open Meeting is on Thursday, March 27,
2014, 6:45–8:15 pm in Room C123 of the Convention Center. Please
consider attending this meeting to share your thoughts with the IEPIS
Steering Committee.
Also consider joining us for the IEPIS Academic Session, one of
our InterSections, or any of the other 70+ presentations, workshops,
discussion groups, colloquiums, poster sessions, and teaching tips in
the IEP Interest Section.
