LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
Hi, ITA Colleagues, This will be my final edition of the newsletter as editor. I have greatly enjoyed learning about the process of creating a TESOL newsletter, but even more than that, I’ve enjoyed interacting with the wonderful and brilliant members of our interest section and learning so much from the ideas presented in your articles. Laura Murphy, a senior instructor at the University of South Florida, will be our new editor, and I am sure she will do a tremendous job. This edition is jam packed with excellent articles, as usual! We start off with two valuable articles about using technology in the classroom. The first talks about making videos in our classes and should leave us all with the feeling that even the most novice videographer among us can do so successfully. The second discusses a unique application for the app, WhatsApp. (That’s a lot of “applications” in one sentence!) Finally, we have a literature review about stressors international students face and ways those students can be supported. I hope you enjoy reading this edition and that you had a fantastic time at the TESOL convention. Now that convention is over this year, please get all of your fresh new ideas written up and sent to Laura Murphy so they can be included in the next edition of our newsletter. Best, Maureen |
