LETTER FROM THE PAST CHAIR

Hello all,

One last letter from me, I promise! It’s my job as past chair to recruit our leadership team for the 2018–19 governance year. We have several open roles, including chair-elect, newsletter editor–elect, secretary, and two member-at-large positions. Duties for these roles would begin at the conclusion of TESOL 2018, though to smooth transitions, there is a required steering meeting during the convention itself. Both the chair-elect and newsletter editor–elect spend their first year of participation shadowing the activities of the chair and editor, respectively. They would transition from their “elect” positions at the 2019 TESOL annual convention. If you have further questions about what either of these roles entails, please let me know! The secretary and member-at-large positions are only a 1-year commitment, between TESOL 2018 and TESOL 2019. Elections usually take place in November, so you have some time to think it over. I hope some of you will be able to donate your time and talents to helping our interest section stay organized and do great things!

Enjoy your summers!
