LETTER FROM THE SECRETARY-ELECT

Hello!

I would like to introduce myself as the Secretary Elect of the International Teaching Assistant Interest Section (ITA-IS) for 2019. Since joining this vibrant community, I have grown as an ITA professional by networking with colleagues from universities across the country, attending high-quality sessions at the annual TESOL Convention, and sharing my work with others. Thus, it is an honor for me to be part of the steering committee and have the opportunity to give back to the ITA-IS.

It was very nice to see many of you in Chicago at TESOL 2018 in March. As a member-at-large, I was responsible for organizing the InterSection, and really enjoyed working with the presenters and learning from their work. I would like to encourage everyone to become involved and take a role in the ITA-IS leadership. It has been a great experience for me. I hope to see many of you in Atlanta next year. Our participation at the international convention each year is instrumental to our success as an Interest Section.

Best regards,

Maria B. Mendoza, PhD
