LETTER FROM THE EDITORS

James Coda

Ekaterina Arshavskaya

Hello, everyone!

We hope you are feeling refreshed and rested after the summer break. Welcome to our third ITAIS newsletter of 2021. While most of us had to learn to teach online recently, many of us already wonder what life and teaching will look like in the after-COVID-19 era. The ITA working group meetings and the webinars organized by Kayla Landers may serve as great spaces for us all to connect, reflect, and share teaching tips and expertise in the meantime. We also always are looking forward to getting interesting and insightful articles from the ITA-IS members.

In this newsletter, we have an article from R.W. Anderson on the risks of a test-focused ITA preparation course. We also have an article by K. Somuncuoğlu on preparing speaking tests for L2 students. Finally, we have an article from D. Mussman related to the use of critical incidents and former students' perspectives in her class.

Also, don’t forget to check out our community events page and contact Kayla Landers to let her know if you would like to present a webinar for the ITAIS.

See you virtually!
