ITAIS COMMUNITY EVENTS UPDATE

James Coda, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Dear all,

As the previous newsletter co-editor for the past two years, I am excited to be continuing my work with the ITA-IS leadership team as the community events organizer. It has been great working with the past and current leadership, and I look forward to contributing in a different capacity this year.

During the past few years, the pandemic upended many aspects of our lives, but it encouraged us to rethink how we connect with one another. In our professional endeavors, Zoom as well as other virtual platforms have allowed for the proliferation of organic conversations that we have often been accustomed to in face-to-face meetings. Within our ITA-IS, the ITA working group has continued to provide a supportive network and an opportunity to connect and learn from one another. Moreover, the webinars offered by the previous community events organizer, Kayla Landers, have provided us with a wealth of information that is productive and useful to our professional endeavors.

As the new community events organizer, I will continue the legacy of conducting webinars that will be beneficial to our community. Please stay tuned for further information regarding our future webinars. Also, please stay connected by viewing the YouTube Channel webpage, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ6DGkSBSyGbz-ob6_TUQ1A, which lists videos from prior webinars and other pertinent information to our community. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please do not hesitate to email me at jcoda@utk.edu .

Finally, please do not miss our next webinar by Heather Boldt, Helping ITAs Improve Their Vocal Variety. The live Q & A will take place on Friday, June 10th, 2022 at 1:00 pm (ET). More information will be posted soon.
