ITAIS COMMUNITY EVENTS UPDATE

James Coda, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN, USA

As we close the fall semester of the 2022-2023 academic year, the ITA-IS community has continued to serve as a supportive network for us to gather and learn from one another in our professional and personal pursuits.

Within the ITA-IS, our webinars have provided useful tips for working with ITAs and our programs. In April, A.C. Kemp presented, “The Ill Eel: A Practical Guide to Teaching Alphabet and Relative Vowel Sounds.” Following this webinar in June, Heather Boldt discussed her presentation, “Helping ITAs Improve Their Vocal Variety.” More recently, in August, Elise Geither and Emily Montgomery were co-presenters on the topic, “Fostering Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in ITA Programs.”

If you would like to access the presenters’ recorded videos, please be sure to access our YouTube page. As always, please feel free to reach out to me at ita.is.tesol@gmail.com or jcoda@utk.edu .
