CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: CONTINUING THE CONVERSATION, BUILDING SOLIDARITY
We are Anastasia Khawaja and Riah Werner the editors of the SRIS newsletter, TESOLers for Social Responsibility. We were thrilled with the submissions for our pre-convention issue and are excited to announce that the theme for our post-convention June issue is Continuing the Conversation, Building Solidarity. For this issue, we’re looking for articles that engage in dialogue with sessions from the TESOL conventions and that build our community of TESOLers of Social Justice. These can be articles that discuss your convention presentations or reflect upon a session or a plenary that you attended. This is an opportunity to not only submit your own work and/or inspirations from the convention, but also an opportunity to continue any discussions started during the week. In addition to articles focused on the convention, we welcome submissions which reflect on the role of dialogue, community and solidarity within TESOL. We hope to showcase the varied ways we can come together and continue to innovate, encourage, and inspire our students, our staff, and/or our colleagues despite the challenges currently facing us as practitioners, scholars, and activists. As always, we would love to share a wide range of voices and perspectives on these issues and particularly encourage international submissions. We are looking for

If you have an idea but need some guidance on how to develop it more fully, please email us at ajkhawaja@usf.edu or riah.werner@gmail.com, and we will brainstorm together! Please send your articles to Anastasia Khawaja at ajkhawaja@usf.edu with the subject line "SRIS Newsletter Submission.” The deadline for submissions is 1 May, 2018.
