CALL FOR MANUSCRIPTS

INTERNATIONAL BILINGUAL BASIC/NYS TESOL IDIOM JOINT CALL FOR MANUSCRIPTS

Submission Deadline: August 1st, 2019

Special Topic Issue:

Innovative, Collaborative and Transformative Bilingualism/Multilingualism for All

This call is jointly released by Bilingual Basic (a TESOL Interest Section newsletter) and Idiom (a quarterly publication of NYS TESOL) to further fostering collaboration and sharing resources in the field of TESOL. Both newsletters are a practitioner-oriented electronic journal based on current theory, research and practice in the field of TESOL. The intended audience includes all types of classroom teachers, researchers, teacher educators and graduate students in TESOL.

We welcome all submissions that highlight and build on the idea of bilingual/multilingual students’ knowledge and skills as valuable learning resources. We are also interested in identifying evidence-based ‘best practice’ teaching strategies, including but not limited to: best practices in developing curriculum and instruction; case studies, autobiographies, book reviews, teaching tips, lesson plan samples across different educational levels (K-16, graduate, adult, refugee education) and disciplines (social studies, science, language education, etc.).

Manuscripts written in languages other than English are particularly welcome, and while they are subject to the availability of multilingual reviewers, we would make every effort to find a reviewer.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Length: Approximately 600 -1,500 words (include a word count excluding references and author’s bio)
  • Formatting: Please use APA guidelines, particularly when citing references.
  • Articles: Please send completed articles in DOC or DOCX format.
  • Graphs and charts: Please embed in body of document. Please include as JPG or PNG files.
