Greetings, colleagues!
I hope you all are happy and thriving both professionally and personally.
The Teacher Educator Interest Section (TEIS) has some new
developments happening that I am pleased to share with you.
First, you voted for a future leader of the TEIS and I am happy
to announce that Michelle Benegas is our incoming chair-elect.
Second, we have other TEIS leaders changing roles. Our own
long-time and highly esteemed myTESOL community manager, Nikki Ashcroft,
is stepping down to pursue other leadership opportunities. We are so
grateful to her for her dedicated, steady, and insightful leadership on
the TEIS team and in the myTESOL Community. Thank you so much,
Nikki!
We have a coeditor officially joining the team of TEIS
News after this edition, Bridget Schvarcz. Bridget will be
working with Fatma Ghailan and our book review column editor to engage
the community via the newsletter.
Third, speaking of the TEIS newsletter, we have a new name for
the newsletter. The reasons for the change of name is that the TEIS
leadership team felt the name was not enough like a journal, which
resulted in difficulties securing articles. The new newsletter name is The Global Forum: Teacher Education in
TESOL.
If you would like to submit an article, please email Fatma
Ghailan & Bridget Schvarcz at teis.newsletter@gmail.com.
Last, we have social media pages for outreach to new members.
If you would like to visit the TEIS Facebook page, you can find it at Teacher Education—a
TESOL Interest Section (@tesol.teis). The TEIS Twitter handle
is @TESOL_TEIS.
Please reach out to me if you would like to share your ideas or
get involved. I really hope to hear from you.
Cheers,
Kate Mastruserio Reynolds
