MINNETESOL WORKS TO STAY IN TOUCH WITH MEMBERS

In Minnesota, our TESOL affiliate, MinneTESOL, works hard to stay in touch with its members across a large geographic area and across many contexts for English teaching. Like many affiliates, we have a Web site, an annual conference, publications, interest sections, and various other activities for members. But this fall, we added another way to stay in touch with our nearly 500 members: Facebook!

By maintaining a Facebook page and posting a few times per week, MinneTESOL can connect our fans with local, national, and global news that is relevant to them. Also, we attempt to address issues related to all of our interest sections. Facebook is just one way that we keep in touch with our members to share opportunities, good news, and resources. Recent posts have included photos from our fall conference, local training from WIDA, job announcements, and opportunities to publish in our academic journal. In just a few weeks, we went from 0 to 200 likes, and we love the many posts that our members have shared in this fast-paced way to connect with others. If you’re a Facebook user, like MinneTESOL on Facebook today!
