Dear IEP Community:

We are very excited to bring you this latest edition of our newsletter. It is jam-packed with useful information that covers a wide variety of topics—from teaching about plagiarism to avoiding burnout—and we hope you will find it informative and interesting. We are fortunate to have such a vibrant and active Interest Section, and we are confident that this newsletter is a reflection of the diverse and interesting people that make up our community.

The newsletter is only as good as you make it! We hope that you will consider writing an article or book review for inclusion in a future newsletter. The guidelines for submitting articles can be found at the end of the newsletter, and we are happy to answer any questions you may have. We try to make the submittal process as painless as possible—for all of us! We would like to begin a new feature, a New Member Profile, through which we can put the spotlight on new members of the IEP Interest Section. If you have recently joined the IEPIS and would be interested in being profiled, please contact us.

The newsletter editing process is a labor of love, and one that was done solely by one IEPIS member, Christie Ward, for a number of years. For the last 2 years, the three of us have worked together to bring you these newsletters, but Christie has now decided to step down. We would like to thank her, on behalf of the entire IEP community, for her time and dedication. Personally, we would like to thank her for showing us the ropes!

We hope you enjoy this edition of our newsletter. Look for the preconvention newsletter early next year.
