LETTER FROM THE CHAIR

Morag Burke, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Hello Everyone,

It was wonderful to see many of you at the International Teaching Assistant (ITA) Professionals Symposium in February, and at the 2019 TESOL Convention in March, and to participate in the ITA sessions that were offered at both events. Every year, participating in these events highlights my sense of gratitude for the lively and committed group of people that compose our professional ITA community.

I would especially like to thank Derina Samuels (outgoing ITA Interest Section [IS] chair) for all her efforts in leading our IS. The past year encompassed many challenges, and Derina met them head on. I would also like to sincerely thank last year’s leadership committee for all the hard work that went into leading our IS for the 2018–2019 cycle.

I am looking forward to an interesting year as the TESOL ITAIS chair, and I will do my utmost to represent our IS in the broader TESOL community. I’m genuinely honored to serve you all for the upcoming year.

Warm regards,

Mo Burke
