COMMUNITY EVENTS UPDATE

Kayla Landers, Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA, USA

It is hard to believe that another semester has come and gone. As a community, we have continued to find ways to connect and learn from each other. One way that we have done this is through webinars. In October, we had an informative session “Evaluating Outcomes of ITA Assessments” by Dr. Jonathan Schmidgall. At the end of November, we had two more: “[Not] Lost in Translation: Practical Suggestions for Thriving in the Classroom as an ITA” by Dr. Tosin Adebayo and “Real-World Listening for ITAs” by Dr. Elvis Wagner. The recordings of these presentations are available on the ITA IS TESOL YouTube page in case you missed them.

I am planning on at least one more webinar in the new year with Dr. Greta Gorsuch. Want to present too? Please reach out (kml314@lehigh.edu), and I can add you to our schedule! Looking forward to connecting and continuing the conversations about recent research and best practices.
