LETTER FROM THE CHAIR-ELECT

Sarah Emory, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA

Hello everyone,

It was wonderful to see many of you at this year’s TESOL International Convention and English Language Expo in Portland or during one of the many ITA Working Group meetings this spring. In conversations across the board, ITA professionals have been discussing the changing landscape in higher education, the framing and support (including funding) for ITA programming, and how to best support our students and their needs while these shifts are occurring. A major topic has been branding of ITA programming and classes as well as how to boost our campus outreach and networks. Our community is a vibrant resource to discuss how these topics are being approached by others and to collaborate on ideas.

Our interest section works best when we stay active and stay in touch with each other. If you have ideas to share, questions to ask, resources you’d love feedback on, reach out through the ITA-IS email list or through the ITAIS community page.

I look forward to connecting with you!

Sarah Emory
