LEADERSHIP UPDATES LETTER FROM THE CHAIR Kayla Landers, Lehigh University, Pennsylvania, USA
Hello fellow ITA professionals! I was disappointed that I wasn’t able to travel this year to see many of you at TESOL. However, I have felt connected year-round (and I hope you have too) because our interest section offers numerous opportunities for engagement: webinars, this newsletter, bi-weekly working groups, and the ITA listserv. A huge shout out to all of YOU who contribute in many ways to all of those opportunities. Although I have often been one who is a quiet observer in each of those interactions, I have gained so much from everyone who offers ideas, asks questions, etc. I am excited to be the new chair for the International Teaching Assistants Interest Section for 2023-2024. First, I’d like to wholeheartedly thank Stacy Suhadolc and Cynthia DeRoma for their leadership and guidance! I’d also like to thank those serving on the steering committee this year. Under this leadership, our interest section continues to be collaborative, innovative, and inspiring. Additionally, I encourage each of you to find ways to become more involved in the interest section in the coming year. Until we meet again, keep the conversations going. Keep sharing the great ideas! Please reach out if you have any suggestions or questions! Kayla Landers
