The goal of the BEIS online peer-reviewed newsletter, Bilingual Basics, is to provide a forum for the discussion of educational and sociopolitical issues in pre-K through postsecondary bilingual and multilingual educational settings around the world including the teaching of English to Deaf students. The audience for Bilingual Basics is bilingual teachers (including Deaf educators), researchers, and teacher educators in TESOL. The newsletter serves as a vehicle for the expression of ideas and scholarship related to teaching and learning in bilingual classroom settings. The newsletter also takes an advocacy position with respect to bi-/multilingual education. It includes articles, research summaries, book reviews, convention information, and general commentary.
