MESSAGE FROM THE CO-CHAIRS

Dear HEISers,

We hope you are all well.

We think you will find this edition interesting as we have five new articles on topics that should get you thinking.

Our HEIS listserv has been active lately with a lively discussion on the role of participation and grading it in various contexts. Whatever your thoughts on this may be, we hope you will consider participating, too. Don't worry. HEIS does not grade your input! :)

The preparations for the TESOL 2016 convention in Baltimore, Maryland, USA are moving along. TESOL should be informing those of you who submitted proposals of their status soon. We wish all the best. We had many great submissions this time, and the task of reviewing them was quite a challenge.

HEIS will organize an InterSection with the IEPIS and SLWIS on coordinating writing between various departments and stakeholders, and we have some great speakers lined up already. We also have an academic session on the challenges of helping undergrads. More details on these and more will be forthcoming.

All the best,

Leo Schmitt and Abby Franchitti

Co-Chairs
