This article addresses the identity and educational crisis of
hundreds of thousands of children who have grown up in the United States
and now attend school in Mexico as a result of deportation and
repatriation. The author draws connections between these Otros
Dreamers’ realities and the potential realities of hundreds of
thousands more students still living in the United States and makes the
case for incorporating massive multiplayer online role-playing games
(MMORPGs) in schools for providing an interest-based identity and

The successful Cuban TESOL affiliate conference held in Havana,
Cuba in December 2017 highlights the fact that the U.S. embargo on Cuba
and new restrictions imposed by the current administration have not
impeded the power of international collaboration and friendship between
Cuban, Canadian and U.S. English Language educators. The author attended
and came away inspired by the Cuban English teachers and
professors—from graduate students and new teachers to senior scholars--
who shared deep insights on keys to professional success in

This article discusses Out of My Great Sorrows: The
Armenian Genocide and Artist Mary Zakarian, a biography of the
author’s great aunt, which addresses the legacy of the trauma passed
down through the generations following the 1915 Armenian Genocide.
McHugh, an English teacher herself, believes that the many issues this
book raises—about identity, ethnicity, immigration, and social justice,
to name a few—are relevant to teachers and students who wish to
understand not only history and the artistic process, but also the
